A Summer of Creativity in Our Libraries & Communities

5 October 2026

From Messy Play and Glow Parties to creative workshops, discover how All Abilities Ireland brought inclusive experiences to local libraries and communities throughout summer 2026.

Summer 2026 | All Abilities Ireland

What a colourful summer it has been! Throughout the summer months, All Abilities Ireland brought creativity, sensory exploration and inclusive experiences to local libraries and community spaces across Laois and Offaly.

Creativity for Every Ability

Our summer activities included Messy Play, sensory experiences, jewellery-making, dance and other hands-on creative sessions, giving children opportunities to explore, express themselves and connect with others at their own pace.

We started June with Cruinniú na nÓg at Portlaoise Library, bringing Messy Play & Sensory Fun alongside an exciting Glow Party featuring UV and LED equipment, bubbles, interactive activities and a Silent Disco experience.

The creative programme continued throughout July and August, including Messy Play and a jewellery-making workshop at Portlaoise Library, where children could experiment with materials, explore new skills and enjoy making something of their own.

Our summer programme also encouraged sharing and imaginative play through Kids Costume Donation activities promoted in Portlaoise and Tullamore.

Bringing Inclusive Activities to Your Community

Working with local libraries and community organisations is an important part of what we do.

Our sessions are designed to encourage participation, creativity and social connection while recognising that every child experiences activities differently.

Whether you're planning a library programme, community family day or a privately organised event, we'd love to explore how All Abilities Ireland could help bring inclusive activities to your space.

From Messy Play and creative workshops to sensory-friendly experiences and Silent Disco, our team can discuss activities to suit your audience and venue.

Let's create more welcoming spaces together!
