The NeuroArt Family Festival is Almost Here!

20 August 2026

Just two more sleeps to go! The NeuroArt Family Festival is happening so soon, Saturday 22nd August, at An Dún Performance and Events Space in Portlaoise — and we can’t wait to welcome families for a day full of creativity, music, play and fun!

There will be lots happening throughout the day, both indoors and outdoors, with creative workshops, sensory activities, performances, wandering entertainment and plenty of opportunities for children to explore at their own pace.

Fire Engine Visit

We’re excited to welcome a fire engine on site from 11am to 1pm, where children and families will be able to see it up close and take photos.

Live Performances Throughout the Day

From 12pm onwards, our stage will be alive with music, dance and community performances, offering a wonderful mix of entertainment for all ages.

And don’t miss the final highlight of the day at 4pm, when you can enjoy a live performance from AVII Knight.

Don't Forget to Dress Up!

We’d love to see children arriving in their favourite costumes!

And if you have costumes or outfits at home that your child has outgrown or would like to swap for something different, bring them along to our Kids Costume Swap. We also have a lovely selection of children’s dress-up clothes available for swapping.

Quiet Spaces & Wandering Fun

Need a quieter moment during the day? Our outdoor quiet area will include a reading nook and outdoor messy play, giving children a chance to take a break and enjoy activities at their own pace.

You’ll also find wandering activities around the festival, including circus skills, unicycling, juggling, bubbles and stilts.

So Much More to Explore

Families can get creative with clay, cold glue art, scarf and abstract face workshops, community mask making, spray painting and candy floss workshops, as well as face painting and nail art.

There will also be puppets and sensory toys to explore and lots of other activities happening throughout the day.

Hungry After All That Fun?

There will be crepes, ice cream and corn dogs available to buy on the day, so you can refuel while enjoying the festival.

Plan Your Visit

We've added the Festival Map and Social Story to the website to help families plan their visit and know what to expect before arriving.
